Vernetta has been nominated for Best Actress by the Asian Television Awards seven times and won twice in 2000 and 2003. She holds the honour of being the only actress to win Best Actress in both drama and comedy categories.

In 2014 Vernetta released her 'tongue in cheek' autobiographical novel. Published by Marshall Cavendish, 'Memoirs of a DJ: life in progress' became Singapore's #1 best selling non-fiction novel according to the Straights Times Best Sellers list.

She is married to Wayne Gladwin and resides in Singapore.
